To all RACES / ARES / SkyWarn Members:
 
I was recently notified that the Erie County Department  of Public Safety 
will be soon be able to notify us via text messaging to our  cell phones. 
This will also apply to those with the Mobilcom alpha-pagers.
 
This will be used whenever mass notification is needed  in a short period 
of time. 
 
They will need your name, cell or pager phone number  (with area code) and 
your carrier. (AT&T, Verizon, etc)
 
Any charges for text messages are your (the phone's  owner) responsibility
