Very sad to hear about Derry's passing. I remember Derry well from my membership in the club back in the 1980s. He was a ham's ham and a gentleman. He was knowledgeable and liked to share his amateur experience with others. As a new ham and member back in the early 1980s, Derry made me feel welcome in the group and always was willing to lend a hand or share a teaching moment. We've lost some excellent members of Cherryville over the past few years. I am proud to have been a member back then and long after I moved to the Midwest in 1989, I still stayed in contact with and even met out here several members such as Charlie Kosman, WB2NQV, and Jay Eger, WB2ZHP, both also silent keys now.
I am privileged to have had Derry in my life.

Hello Cherryville....
?
I received the following message via Tom Lanieri, NU2W today:
?
It is my sad duty to notify you that Derry
Galbreath, W2XT, passed away this morning
at his home in Branchburg NJ. The local EMS
and medics responded at around 11AM this
morning to a report of CPR in process, but
were unable bring him back.
Once funeral arrangements are announced
we'll distribute that information.
Rest in peace Derry.
