I am sorry I did not make the meeting I was hoping to do a presentation
on A.R.E.S. IS-100 and IS-700 is the base training required for A.R.E.S
and is easily taken online. Anything above that is a great learning time
and is widely used in the Disaster Field. I myself am trained to ICS-800
with other training to supplement that so I can help anyone with
obtaining the online course.

Just a heads up Hunterdon County A.R.E.S. group is in a bad spot as we
do not have enough people to field for a sizable call up. On record and
trained is 4 people not including myself. Red Cross and the other groups
A.R.E.S. deals with is not confident on the support form us. Glen (
Ac2BH ) has asked in January for Annual survey to be filled out and I
made a request in February and March. Unlike the past we can not operate
with out a record of people and there training. Glen and Bill can
contest to the fact that Local,County and State during any event will be
wanting a record of who you have and if they are trained.

Due to this the A.R.E.S. group will not be called up till we have more
members to field. All people have to do is go
to_http://hunterdonares.webs.com/apps/documents/ _fill out the survey
and if not trained to IC-100 and IC 700 take the online course. You can
still fill out the survey and get on the books and do the training with
in the year. As with RACES A.R.E.S. can not work with out people trained
and on record so we know who to call up in a time of need. Also if you
are a member of RACES you still need to fill out a survey for A.R.E.S.
as we do not share a member list due to different ways we operate.

The decision to be called up is that of the group we are partnered with
and I have had meetings with : County OEM,Red Cross,Salvation
Army,United Way to name a few. I have been working hard to go over the
A.R.E.S. plan and update our contacts and SOP's with the groups we deal
with and the first question is " How many people do you have and are
they trained for this ".

N2SMV has offered to come to our meeting to discus the latest changes
and were A.R.E.S. is now in NJ and I think it would be great to have him
and a speaker from RACES upper level.

If anyone has any questions or needs help getting started in A.R.E.S.
please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am also reaching out to a
HUGE list of Hunterdon County hams not involved in our club as A.R.E.S.
is for all hams not just Club members.

The advantage here is that you take the courses at your own pace. and you will have an introduction to the Incident Command System (AND the National Response System) that are acceptable to nearly every emergency response group out there.
