Our Club

Hi everyone

Please let me start with the definition of Club: "3: a group of persons
associated for a common purpose; also: the meeting place of such a group"

Let me also say that I'm a bit confused! Our club resembles a restaurant, if
we offer the right services and the appropriate setting, you'll attend?

As the club's president and as a fellow club member, I don't seem to have
any idea what it's going to take for more member participation in anything?
We (the Board) offered to you a questioner and quite a few were sent out, 12
people responded, Thank you! This is a very small representation of our
membership and an even smaller representation of Ham's in general.

With out you (all of you) there simply is no club.

These are some of the issues we face:

1) We can't fill all board positions, let alone have a real race for any
position?

2) We cannot get enough participation to properly support any function,
for example; the Hamfest, March of Dimes and Field Day?

3) Field Day is just weeks away, is anyone interested or care?

4) We seem unable to figure out what it will take to get people
involved?

5) We are in danger of not being able to fulfill our RACES mission which
puts in jeopardy our repeater system?

6) We can't seem to attract new members, young or old?

I'm not different from you! I have a home, family and job which comes first
because Ham Radio is my hobby.

Now comes Field Day we can have the meals be a catered or we can skip meals
or anything in between. We can have a two tower blow-out with satellite or
some wire antennas, it's up to you! It depends on your opinion and
participation. We have one club meeting before Field Day.

I ask you directly; can the "club", your friends in Amateur Radio, Count on
You?

Respectfully
