Ladies  & Gentlemen

Let me be completely candid with you.

This year no one has volunteered for anything when it comes to Field Day, no
one!

Yes, many said they'll be there and help as they can, many have offered to
bring equipment, thank you!

Here are several things you should know:

The County Freeholders have not officially approved the use of our regular
site.

The county's Office of Emergency Management has not answered any emails.

I have no contacts to have the trailer moved; it's nearby but, not at the
site.

There will be no Port-O-Potty.

There are no meals or drinks planned.

I cannot be there for most of Saturday.

There is no one who's offered to coordinate score keeping.

And, if that's not enough, the weather looks lousy.

Well, I'm going and I'm going to make the best of it, if this isn't the most
real field day exercise then what would be?

You could go up to Providence, Rode Island, I hear there serving Lobster,
Clams and Steak.

You could go to other field day sites and watch the real "Top Guns" compete
or you could show up and do your personal best under rotten conditions, just
like it would be in the "real world" of Emergency Communications.

By the way, send your best wishes to Bill Powell, WB1GOT, and his pacemaker
is being replaced today. Its outpatient so he'll be going home but, we may
not see him this weekend.

Accept this challenge; you'll be glad you did!
