Gentlemen and Ladies

Here is the latest on TopOff:

This is a International exercise, it includes Canada.

As RACES Operators we need to man these stations:

1) Hunterdon County Health Department, their installing a Tri-Band
Antenna (2M, 220, 440) with two adapters and the necessary Coax. This is
the most important station in this drill

2) The 3M building at River Road and Rt. 31
3) Hunterdon Central High School
4) Hunterdon Medical Center

These, for us, are almost as important stations.

5) Hunterdon County EOC, this station will have net control but, little
to no drill traffic to handle

When it comes to our plans to man each station with 4 people each and
our own PIO, spare crew (4) and a floater (ME) we'll require 26 solid
people.

We need 6 to 7 high power stations (power supplies, mobile radios and
portable antennas, no HTs will be used for site to site communications)
to support communications (I have one phone set up and one digital set up)

We may need to go outside of our community for Hams who want to help,
please remember this is State Wide, and in two counties, it's going to
be even a larger deployment then ours.

Roberto Matos, K2PA is coordinating volunteers, please call him if you
can help or if you know someone who can. In some cases we may be able to
use family member who do not have a Ham License in a runner capacity.
Phone Number 908-788-8253

Walter, W2WJO, please get the word out to the club members who are not
on the reflector or anyone you think I missed.

Bill Powell (Sr or JR.) please make sure that the EOC can handle us this
Saturday at 12:00 pm for the meeting. There will be a planning meeting
at the Hunterdon County EOC this Saturday at 12:00 pm, it's not
necessary everyone attend but, if you can your welcome too.

Dave, ARES can (as they should) create there own role (Red Cross does
play a very small role) but the sites listed will become RACES sites
when the starting guns go off. ARES should be a part of this, it would
be in the real thing and we should work out who we are going to work
together now and in the future.

Anyone who can volunteer there time and or equipment will be appreciated!

I'm meeting with the TopOff planners on Wednesday Afternoon and I'll
update everyone that evening with any new news.

Thank you all!
Michael Varas, KC2CMC
Hunterdon County RACES Coordinator
