[W2CRA] Hamfest 2004

   Hamfest 2004 is just days away. The repeater now says "Hamfest This
Saturday." We're just about ready for our major fundraiser of the year!
Nearly 90% of our funds used for repeater upkeep, Field Day operations
and the other events we cover come from this event alone. It's important
and we need the help of all club members, whatever time you have to
give.
   Many of you were at the last club meeting and signed up for various
work locations for the event. Many more of you were not at the meeting
and didn't get that opportunity, so your opportunity is now. Please
email me at bcampbell@scettc.org to let me know when you will be there
(i.e. Friday from four p.m. on, and Saturday from 5:00 am through
cleanup, likely to be around 2 or 3 p.m.) If there is a special spot you
want to work, include it in the message.
   The areas we still need assistance include: 
1.  Setup. Friday, starting at 4:00 p.m. at the high school. Just come,
we'll have you help where needed. If you have a pickup truck, it would
be very helpful.
2.  Saturday morning, Early -- 5:00 or 5:30 a.m.  We need additional
security people, additional parking personnel and one or two additional
at the gate (Buyers get in at 8:00 but we'll sell them tickets earlier).
Critical is security! We also need people to help get the vendors inside
as quickly as possible. If you have a hand truck or dock cart, please
bring it to use in getting vendors in.
3.  Since several members will be either VE's or taking a test, we'll
need replacements starting at around 9:00 a.m. If you will be available
then let me know so I can assign you to critical spots. 
4.  Finally, WE NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO CLEAN UP. We leave
that school better than we find it, and we have a reputation to uphold.
The more hands we have to help clean up, the faster it goes and the less
exhausted the few will be.
 
   There will, of course, be a club table, headed up by Mike KC2CMC. If
you have equipment you want to sell at the table, bring it Saturday
morning, tape a card with your name and call and asking price on the
equipment, and give Mike a second card with your bottom line will accept
no less than price. That will save Mike a lot of chatter on the radio
trying to find you and dicker the price over the air.
   Club member will get free drinks, but food you need to buy. Please
don't beg... Hi hi.
   That's the message. If you didn't sign up please get to me with a
message as per above, and we'll see you on Friday, or Saturday, or even
