Please review the bulletin (below and attached) from the Commonwealth Fusion Center concerning helicopter flights the next several days over the course of the Boston Marathon. This bulletin is being re-distributed with the express authorization of the Commonwealth Fusion Center.

Bulletin Type: Advisory - New

Status: Active

Narrative:
(U) Low flying helicopters will be flying in different parts of the Massachusetts through April 19, 2016. (U) A helicopter from the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration will be flying along the Boston Marathon route from April 12-15, 2016. The helicopter will measure naturally occurring background radiation. The helicopter used is a Bell 412, which will fly a grid pattern along the Marathon at an altitude of 150 feet of higher. (U) JBI Helicopter Services will use three helicopters in Norfolk County and Eastern Middlesex County from April 13-15 and on April 19, 2016. JBI is providing aerial pesticide applications to control mosquitos. All three helicopters are blue and yellow Bell 206s. (U) Click on the attachment of logon the the HHAN to view the bulletin.
