I am forwarding this post from the Norton Health Nurse.
A Mass Dispensing Site especially in a Pandemic is another
potential mission for HAM Radio operators. We could provide
Comms between sites, back to EOC's and to Hospitals etc.
We certainly could also provide parking lot control.
While I don't know the role Comms can or will play in this event,
I am sure that we can all benefit from seeing how the MDS system works
and get some more ICS training.
If you are interested in another area of EmComm, please plan to attend.
Thank you
Ray Cord K2TGX

Hi all, Please post where many people may view. Thank you.
Dear Friend of Norton,???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Sept. 17, 2009
?
?
The Norton Board of Health is planning large flu clinics for H1N1 vaccinations. Although we are not sure of our dates for these clinics at this time we expect they will be held in early November and early Dec. We are presently planning for these clinics and will need many volunteers. I am writing to you today to ask you to consider being such a volunteer.
The clinics will use the Incident Command System of organization and we would like to have a short (one hour) training on basic emergency dispensing site set up and protocol. ?We have scheduled it for Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 from 7 to 8 p.m. Amy Palmer from the Bristol County Emergency Preparedness Coalition will be offering this training at the Town Hall planning board room upstairs ?
The reason we are sending you this letter is because you are either a member of the Medical Reserve Corp., have shown an interest in it or have a position that may lend you to be of service in this endeavor.
We will be following up this letter with a telephone call in the next week or so. This is an exciting time in public health and we are hoping that the Town of Norton will come forward to assist in this pandemic flu clinic planning and implementation.
