[W1SMH] Tower Concerns

Folks,

I'm writing you concerning an issue that has been in the news lately. I'm talking about tower regulation. Recently, T-Mobile has been proposing to build a tower complex on property owned by the Knights of Columbus off of Highland Ave. Attleboro. The neighbors complained the city concerning the medical effects of EM radiation and the negative affects they say this type of installation will have on their property values. The City Council has referred the issue to committee for study indicating that they do not have regulations to cover this issue and indicates that any such installation can be placed on land zoned for any use.

My concern here is that we could lose our privilege to place a tower or other supporting structure on a residential property unless we get involved in this issue. It might be worth our time to contact ARRL for assistance with this issue to insure we get all the information that we might need to effectively address this threat.
