[W1SMH] Looking for Information

I'm looking for information concerning the a Navy Beam Filter NAF 68304. I have had one here for years, but I have never learned anything about what is inside and what the specifications are.

I suspect that this a filter used for navigation. The only thing that I have learned to date is that it was radio accessory carried by Navy plans during WWII. Any information concerning the specifications, use, or any other information about this device would be appreciated.
