You found the approach I remembered, but from a different source. If you
try this approach and want to see the rear of the PW dial or the front with
the black center knob removed before starting, let me know. I bought a
dial and gearbox , NC-100 style (input and output shaft inline, instead of
right angle) thru ebay, and the dial is loose and easily removed. I'll use
my digital camera and send the images to you as attachments.
Your question leads to another one involving gummy grease in the gearbox,
but I'll make it a separate post.
