Hi All,

Several days ago I got quite a surprise in the mail. A friend found an
original release of Glen Campbell's version of "Amazing Grace" with Glen not
only singing, but also playing the bagpipes. I have always liked this
unusual arrangement, but could never find a copy of it. I think he did it
'live' originally.

I did find one vinyl album four years ago with the actual song on it, but
the album had been damaged by some scratches. Then I found a CD that
appeared to have the version I wanted on it, so I bought it. The song had
Glen singing with a female, not the original at all.

As I was listening to the like new 45 rpm single playing through the 1974
James B. Lansing Century L-100 speakers, I got to thinking about all the 45
singles and 33 1/3 rpm albums that I have here in my audio Shack. I do not
have a back up turntable! If anything goes wrong with my 1974 Sony/Marantz
model 5520 I am up an Oxygen free wonder wire creek with no canoe to paddle!

The 45 rpm single was in near perfect condition, so you know that the blind
dude immediately made two remastered CD copies!

If any of you know where I can purchase a working and fully functional good
quality turntable, please contact me! All I really need is one with two
speeds, 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, the ability to track down to .75 grams, a dust
cover and properly balanced aluminum turntable mounted in a preferably wood
cabinet.

If the turntable should happen to have strobe lights, or other means of
instrumentation, that allows the user to monitor the rotational speed of the
turntable, and controls to adjust the rotation +/- for the proper turntable
speed, not a problem! My ears will tell me everything, and probably more,
then the strobe lights can!

If the turntable has the anti-skate, or is it anti-skid?, mechanism to
prevent the stylus from doing a little hop, skip and bounce routine across
the surface of the vinyl records grooves, that will be fine.

Thank you for doing some checking for me guys, please know that I do
appreciate your efforts on my behalf! I will even reward you with some of
the original vinyl albums, or singles, that I have already remastered to CD.
Be aware that I do 'NOT' colorize the music or vocals! What I try to do is
remaster the vinyl to CD to sound exactly as it did when first released.
However, should I have a song, or an album, that you want, and you want me
to color the sound to your particular tastes, I will remaster the music and
do it your way.

Thanks very much for your assistance!
