I think that the Great Escape has an on -line site in Nashville. Google
search
"Great Escape" and see what you find.
Rick's albums were on Athena and RCA Camden record lables.
Not sure about Gil's albums. There were a lot of interesting Moog recordings
and Walter/Wendy Carlos's albums were absolutely amazing.
"Switched on Bach" was a big hit for Carlos - on Columbia records. He used
a 2" 16 channel recorder on the project.
Keeping a Moog in tune is a real challange - those oscillators drifted over
time
and temperature. These 3 artists knew what they were doing and are well worth
a listen.
My late good friend, Freddy Cameron, was the engineer on Rick's Athena
recordings. Fred signed on with Rick in l969. He was a great guitarist and
musician. We go back to l957 and met thanks to our guitar teacher Ted Conners
in Daytona Beach. We were in the USNR and served on active duty in l960-63.
I heard Rick was looking for someone to help out and recomended Fred for the
position. Fred eventually became an independent engineer and an expert of
repairing condensor microphones. Before he died two years ago, he had built
the prototype "Freddy" microphone for Cameron Labs which he and his son
Phillip owned.
I miss both Rick and Fred - two wonderful Christian family guys.
