Fred,
I do have a workshop. However, I'll need to start lifting weights
before I want to move the Kenwood around :-).

I have many amps/preamps/tuners but bought my first receiver a few
months ago for my son's room. It is a 70s Sony that I picked up from a
local thrift. Replaced one fuse, tightened the tuner knob, brought it
up on a varaic and it works great. Not very powerful but easy to
'justify'. When I brought in a Mac pre, it raised an eyebrow. It is
much easier to move amps in and out :-). I did rotate in a 6sn7 pre
last week and the exposed tubes where more of a problem than 'where did
you get that?'.

I think another son is getting a stereo system.
