[Vintage-Audio] RE: Does anyone really care...

OK, Duane, OK; but it'll die right out again unless folks with a whole
lot more to discuss than I have keep up the traffic.

Really nothing much to talk about here. Those who know me also know
that I'm more a test equipment freak, repair grunt, and Metrologist than
an audiophile. Most of our listening is casual and usually from FM via
either a Fisher 400 or 800C into a few pairs of old ARs. The surrounds
on several are becoming a problem and will need attention soon or
they'll have to join the AR 9s in storage. She Who Must Be Obeyed has a
tin ear and is just as happy most times with something plastic.

I still keep a decent Technics belt-drive with a Shure for vinyl and my
trusty TEAC A-6010 open-reel. The old girl needs heads though and I'm
not sure what I can do about that. There are a couple of cassette decks
around; nothing flashy. The (long) restoration queue is interspersed
with some more ARs, some Heath gear, a few pieces of Harman Citation,
and a couple of Altec 260A amps. I haven't decided on an eventual
preamp to use with those.

But yes, I care.
