When burning the disc to cd for a working master I find that a 12 band
equalizer works well.

Here are the basic steps

1 - Source LP to preamp
2 - preamp to equalizer
3 - the equalizer is adjusted to match the RIAA curve to the curve on the LP
4 - the eq feed the amp and the amp feeds a audio cd burner (stand alone)
5 - that cd is the master
6 - I then create the wav for editing and other things (ie more eq)
7 - burn to a test r/w cd for audition
8 - burn fin r/o cd when I am statisfied

If I had parametric eq I would use it . Sometimes I will daisy-chain
another eq for noise, rumble and other things,

This simplifies things a bit.

I almost forgot I use a mono cartridge stereo cartridges add noise even
wired for mono use. The added noise is due to the ver
icle compliance of the stereo cartridge.
