Duane,
I'd even listen to JD Sumner impersonating a frog, but I don't want to
go there! I haven't heard the recording you mention but can imagine his
bass sound is probably fuller than a standup bass!
I also would like to hear some of Pierce Arrow, based on their website
it's a pretty hot vocal group but I'm just not a Branson kind of guy.
Maybe someone is and can give us a real report. They do have a number of
CDs and DVDs for sale, some of which look like complete shows and the
selections do sound like they'd really showcase a wide range of
vocalists. Your best bet would be to give them a call at: 417-336-8742 -
Toll Free: 877-687-4241 or email info at piercearrowtheater.com
<mailto:info at piercearrowtheater.com> and ask them which ones feature Dan
Britton. I'm sure they'll recommend the CD called "So Low" which is
listed, and includes the songs: In The Garden, King Of The Road, Pieces
Of His Heart, My Old World, That’s All I Need To Know, Jesus And John,
Dream On, Sixteen Tons, It’s Never The Right Time, and Good Time
Charlie’s Got The Blues. May have to check this out myself.
Now if we can find a way to hear Dan or JD's voice through a Karlson
speaker we ought to have a true indication of it's bass reproduction
characteristics!*
