Michael,

What kind of recording do you wish for me to discuss? I do source to DAT, source
to CDR, source to cassette and source to reel to reel. I also do DAT to CDR, DAT
to DAT, CD to CDR or CDRW and vinyl to anything. What is even better, is I do
it without being able to see the VU meters or digital displays for recording
levels, balance and so forth. Which gives me an instant excuse if I mess up!
"What meter? What red line? What do you mean it says 'tilt' on the display?"

If you want to discuss something at length Michael, let's go to the landline.
E-mail me off list, and I will give you the tx.

Speaking of recording from vinyl...

I'd really be interested in knowing how people on this list are doing what you
say, Duane, recording records for posterity and regular listening. I can imagine
the signal path in your rig containing some interesting components. I am
particularly interested in the turntable and cartridge combos, since that is the
weak link in my own signal path at the moment.

I seem to recall this coming up on the list before, and apologize for forgetting
it all!

Michael

Hi All,

The pause button on the Revox B77 only works while depressed, a function I do
not like. Apparently the wired remote, which I do not have, allows for
continuous pause. Ths really complicates recording from vinyl!

I have also noticed that with the monitor switch in the 'source' position, I can
set the record level knobs. I do not have to have previous pressed the 'record'
button and so forth.

I have determined the way one records is to press the record and play buttons at
the same time. I had hoped that pressing the record button would put it in a
pause/record mode and then I could start the recording by pressing the play
button. No such luck.

Am I missing something here in how to record with the Revox B77?

Thanks.
