[Vintage-Audio] Selecting Tape On H. Scott Amp

I do not have the specs or schematics on Duane's receiver. But the eq
for tape heads and phono pickups is always done in the preamp. The
mention of NAB, which is the tape EQ curve (RIAA is the Phono) and a
switch that selects between the two quite different eq curves is a
clear and undisputable indication that the preamp in Duane's receiver
was intended to be used directly with tape heads and this was commonly
done in the 60-70s. The line level tape loop input/output is flat and
free from any eq. We are both right, in your saying the tape loop is
flat and my saying that the phono input has switchable eq so it can be
used for either tape heads or phono pickups. No flame intended, just
an attempt to correct what I interpreted you to say in your original
response...
Plus these thing should be discussed on the open mail as many folk are
out there learning. They need and enjoy technical discussions.
