[Vintage-Audio] Multiple Amplifier To Speakers Switch

The switch is intended for modern surround sound systems, and is not really
meant for high powered amps. Besides, RS did not even have one in stock at the
stores I talked to, and visited, to examine.

Good advice, nonetheless. Thank you.

<snip>
I have two stereo amplifiers and one set of speakers that I
need to switch back and forth between. Ideally, a second set
of speakers would be the solution, but thus far no vintage
speakers have shown up.

The switch I found at Radio Shack, used RCA jacks, not screw
terminals or pressure connectors for the speaker wires.

Be careful here... You are switching amplifiers not speakers.
Make sure your amplifiers are okay with common connections
being common and make sure you do not accidently reverse
the connection as it might be a dead short across the output
of an amp. Also, you are dealing with some current in the
switching... are the contacts up to it??? Will the damping
factor be lost with contact resistance???

I would prefer to make up a relay system to do the switching
and avoid potential problems with the make-do thingie.
