[Vintage-Audio] Marantz Product Line Matches ?

Hi Group,

I know this isn't exactly in the era of "Vintage",
as it's solid state :( and not tubes, but I figured
there would be those here that appreciate the Marantz
product line - just the same, and have some knowledge
about the various configurations from the 70's.

I have a working (very well actually) 2230 Receiver
and I'd like to build up a complete 'rack' using that
and it's matching components. I believe the matching
Cassette Deck for that rcvr is the "Model 5200", but
I'm not sure - if incorrect, someone please correct.
I picked up a Model 5000 Cassette Deck, but the panel
is just slightly narrower than the receiver, so in MY
book - that doesn't match! :(

I know there probably won't be a CD Player for this set
as I don't think they existed for comsumer use in 70's :)
If someone has found a CD unit that has the same dimensions,
panel finish, and accent color as the Marantz components,
I'd like to know about it.

I'd like to pick up a matching power and pre-amp,
if there were indeed matching components for those.

Also interested in learning about any other components
that were mfgr'd to be used with this 'set'...

Actually I'd like to have either a B&O or a Jade Green
McIntosh rack, but the going prices I've seen for those
on that bay place, have convinced me that I may not be
able to afford those before I end up leaving this reality.
So I figured the Marantz was a good compromise, and I do
recall seeing the Marantz Racks sitting in the same room
as the Mc's and Bangs when I was spending my time in the
Stereo Shops in the early 70's :)

Btw, I've been to the Marantz Museum web site, but didn't
find much in the way of a coalescent outline of what a
complete system would consist of.

Thanks,
         Bruce
