Peterborough ARES/ASC (Amateur Radio Emergency Service/Auxiliary
Communications Service) is having an ARES/ASC Training Course. This
course is open to anyone who would like to be a member of Peterborough
ARES/ASC or be added to the Floater List.  The Floater List is any
ARES/ACS member who does not want to participate in the weekly ARES/ACS
Nets. There has been many changes to ARES/ACS in the last few years that
includes requirements to operate in EOCs  (Emergency Operations
Centers).  For this reason, all ARES/ASC participants including the
Floater List must now have ARES/ASC Training as a "minimum" requirement.

Please note, during an Emergency ARES/ACS activation, any Amateur Radio
volunteer who wishes to help, will not be refused but will likely
operate in a limited role.

When: *Saturday, September 16th, 2023*
Time:*9:00am - 4:00pm*
Where: *Keene Fire Station 1, 21 Third Street, Keene*
Field Exercise: *TBD *(One Saturday morning, sometime in October*)
*

Please email me at ve3ema at myrac.ca by September 11th if you wish to
enroll in this training session.

We hope that you consider applying your Amateur Radio skills to this
important community service.

73, Harmen VE3EMA
Peterborough ARES/ACS Group Coordinator
