Christy:

We will need at least 5 relief operators Monday
through Friday next week.

Not a lot of HF or long distance traffic, but lots of
local traffic between various teams in the field.

Relay stations on HF can be helpful, too. There isn't
much traffic and it's a long time between calls.
Calling them and letting them know your prayers and
support would of course be great, too.

They should be monitoring 7.260 at least at 10-2-4
Texas time (Central Daylight Savings Time), or that i
UTC 1600, 2000, and 2200.

They are operating in the effected area on 146.430,
and they have an Armadillo Intertie link on 440
between San Antonio and Dallas.

Our Dallas monitoring station is W0GDS, San Antonio is
N5VRP, and the net control in the effected area is
K5STB.

They also check in periodically on the ARES net on
7.285/7.275 for traffic and on 3.873 +/- in the
evening and early morning. Texas ARES and the ARRL
are working to support us, too.

As far as the work in progress, the last number I
heard was an estimated minimum of 1800 homes ruined
and families displaced.

Baptist operations I understand to be active there are
the tarpaulin units, chainsaw units, shower units,
Victim Relief Chaplains, kitchens and communicators.

The whitecap Field Coordinator there is Ernie Rice.

Texas Baptist Men headquarters for an official update
is (214)381-2800 or the website
http://www.texasbaptistmen.org

Also there is an effort under way to get operating
reciprocal priveleges expedited for operating on ham
frequencies in Piedras Negras, across the river from
Eagle Pass, Texas. The Mexican government may respond
by Monday.

Many thanks and God bless to all who are with us in
the Spirit, far and near.

We pray for quick comfort and relief for the many
families whose lives are interrupted by the tragedy.
