You all may have noticed some radical changes to the home page of This
Week in Amateur Radio. Do not adjust your set.

Among some of the changes are the menu bar across the top of the web
page (now viewable with most current web browsers, including IE,
Netscape, Opera, Firefox). Only the main page has the menu bar for now,
but I will place it on other pages later this week. I will also remove
the menu bar to the right in favor of the menu bar within the next few
week, to give everyone time to navigate it and get used to the layout.
I'll move the solar weather and google ads up the page. Speaking of
google, it;d be nice (and profitable) to click on the links every time
you visit. Just one click will make a difference.

I have also included the telephone number that can be accessed to get
TWIAR via phone at the top left.

You'll also notice the "Podcasting", "RSS" and "XML" tags in the menu.
We are working to become even more popular with the advent of
"podcasting", or using your portable media player or RSS news feeder to
listen to the MP3 audio of the program. So far, as best I can tell, we
have had increased traffic to the site since the links were provided,
and many podcasting sites are listing us on their pages. With the
RSS/XML feed, we have made another way that you can place TWIAR news on
your web site. In addition to the TWIARTicker, the RSS/XML feed will
post the headlines (as I update them) onto your web page. Like the
TWIARTicker, you do nothing but post the code, and I do the rest.
Headlines are updated at least once a week and the MP3 audio (for
podcasting purposes) is at the top of the list. I will work on a
separate page for podcasting later today or in the week, but you can get
the instructions on how to place the RSS feed on your site by going down
the TWIAR.org home page.

Speaking of the TWIARTicker, I have made it easier to get the source
code for the TWIARticker on to your web site. Before, requests were
manually done via email to myself, and it would take 24-72 hours for a
response. Now, I have streamlined the process. Simply click on the
TWIARTicker page and then follow the link. You will be asked for the
URL you wish to put the ticker on and then you will be sent to the
source code page.

That's all for now. Please feel free to scope out the site at your
earliest convenience.
