THe beam is somewhat focused, but I wouldn't even call it "equivelent"
within the beam at short range.  I compared it to a 7W night light.  THe
nightlight was much more usable.

As far as I can tell, it is equivelent in physical characteristics only.

There are two types of LED auto lights.  Most brake lights are PWM, pulse
width modulated.  Longer pulse, more on time, brighter appearing.

I haven't noticed noise from these.

The remaining bulbs use resistors.

I have numerous small 120VAC led lights supplies and so forth, they have
diodes, resistors, inductors and capactiors.  All passive, no noise.

I'm holding one in my hand, three white LEDs, a resistor, four diodes, two
inductors, RF silent.
