[TVI-RFI-EMI] Is a Ground-Shorting Switch Better?

i am not an expert by any means. during electrical storms i fully disconnect my stations antennas and ground line. i cant imagine a 10,000 megawatt lightning bolt stopping at the ground rod and not backin into m( station. what if the bolt strikes the ground rod... w_w serious smoke in the shack!!!!
