Well, I didn't get as much response to my
trivia questions, but for those interested,
here were the answers:

In 1939, WLW Cincinnati received special authorization to go to
500,000 watts. The special tubes used in the final were water cooled
and there was a pond in front of the building which was used as a
radiator to dissipate the tremendous amount of heat generated by
the tubes. What else was the heat used for?

Bank), also located in NYC, does not have unique
DXCC status and considered within the USA along
with W1AW and K2DM.
