[TVARC] Field Day update - Friday evening

An energetic, motivated group of TVARC members accomplished a great deal
this afternoon at Eisenhower.

I delivered the yagis and radios at around 2:15, and as club members arrived
we spread the yagis out on the grass and began putting them together.

At 3:00 on the dot, the Emergency Services trailer arrived, kicking off
activity in three areas:

1.	Two yagis were assembled and attached to the trailer's tower along
with the 80M/40M dipole.
2.	The mapping of the internal runs of coax within the trailer was
completed.
3.	Three of the four stations were set up and tested.  FT8, SSB and CW
stations await only connection to antennas.

We were unable to erect the yagi for the CW station because we await the
arrival of the support mast, hopefully tomorrow morning,

And we decided to hold off on erecting the 6BTV vertical for the FT8 station
until tomorrow.

The 15 or more members who showed up decided to call it a day at just before
5:00.  Good thing, too, because it started pouring rain shortly thereafter.

 

WORK IS SCHEDULED TO RESUME AT 8:30 SATURDAY MORNING!!!

 

There are still a number of hours available for operating over the weekend.
