[TVARC] Field Day update

TVARC members,

In case you haven't heard, Field Day is THIS weekend.  We will be setting up
in the Eisenhower Rec Center parking lot.

This update has two parts - the schedule for setting up and the schedule for
operating.

 

Setting up will begin tomorrow (Friday) at 3:00.  The Sumter County
Emergency Services trailer will be delivered around 3:00PM.

I will show up around 2:30PM to wait for the trailer AND to drop off
antennas.  Anyone who is interested is welcome to join me to help put the
antennas together.

These include a 3-element beam, a 2-element beam, a multiband trap vertical,
a 6M beam and the driven element of a third beam.

Who knows, we might even mount the 6M beam and the 3-element beam on the
tower of the trailer.

If things go smoothly (hah!), we might even start placing radios inside the
trailer and getting them ready.

We will complete our setting up activities Saturday morning.  Start time
will be around 8:00AM, but I will confirm in an email via the reflector
tomorrow evening.

We have until 2:00PM to get everything ready to begin operating.

 

The Operating Schedule is attached.  There are PLENTY of spots available on
CW, SSB and FT8.  Send me an email to request a time on any of those
stations.

We will also have the GOTA (Get On The Air) station available throughout the
weekend.

If you are a newly licensed ham, and would like to have a mentor walk you
through making a few contacts, either send an email to me with a time
request or just show up.  Someone will be there to help you.
