*One of my pet peeves: automatic morse code.*

*Perhaps I’m just an old grouch (83) but when an operator sets the computer
CW speed at 45 wpm and then presses an F key he is not “sending” at 45 wpm
– the computer is. Some may say I’m nitpicking but to me we ‘send’ with our
fists – it’s a hands-on operation – not computer assisted ops.   Don’t get
me wrong, I’m not knocking the computer assisted programs, they are great
and the only way to go when contesting.  *

*Why these ops persist in doing that during contests boggles the mind –
they obviously miss out on contacts from less skilled operators. I agree
with Steve, K2PS, it is simply showing off.  *
