Below are some interesting tips for N1MM use in this weekend’s CW Sweepstakes from the Florida Contest Group reflector.

This weekend is ARRL SS CW, which is a favorite contest (as most CW contests are). 

 

I saw a couple of mentions on another reflector of some tips for using N1MM+ for Sweepstakes. Specifically, the SS Parser that's built in to the logger.

 

When you open an SS log in N1MM, you'll notice that there are two boxes for exchange information, one for the other station's callsign and another box for everything else. N1MM and his co-developers have imported into N1MM+ one of the most useful features of TR-Log, the free-form parser. 

 

Type the SS exchange information in any order into the large box, and the program will attempt to log everything correctly. Help it out by putting the serial number next to the precedence without a space between, and putting the check and section together similarly. 

 

So, you can log 142 B K4OO 70 WCF as

 

142B 70WCF

 

However, if you miscopied K4OJ as K4OW, you can correct it very simply 

 

142B 70WCF K4OJ

 

Similarly, if you busted the number and it should be 132, you don't need to backspace or grab the mouse, just type

 

142B 70WCF K4OJ 132

 

There is text above the parser window that shows what exchange info will go into the log. The N1MM manual documentation is at this link, under Entering Received Exchanges
