[TVARC] IC-7300 on CW

I guess I never noticed this before as I am new to the IC-7300.  I have
been working much SSB and digital and I now want to get back my CW
proficiency.  When I am CW keying (plugged into the back and using a
Vibroplex key), the ALC indicator follows my keying, going full max when I
hold the key down.  Is that correct? I never noticed that before.  Am I
sending out an audio "CW" transmission?

My rig is hooked up for digital (FT4 and FT8) using a USB and CIV
connection.  It has been working fine.  So, I do not change anything and
simply go to CW mode on radio to operate CW.

I made several contacts and all seems well.

Am I missing something?  I feel like a dummy.
