You might look into the Elecraft KPA500 which is a 500W solid-state amp. 
I picked one up a couple years ago along with the KAT500 tuner.  The pair
have worked flawlessly for me when mated to my K3.  The prices have come
down since folks are looking for the KPA1500/KAT1500 pair that Elecraft
released for legal-limit junkies.
