Hi Members of TVARC’s MailList (especially those present in Florida),

As a precautionary preparation, I’ve taken down and disassembled my flagpole antenna. The National Weather Service (NWS) is now predicting that Hurricane/Tropical Storm “ETA” will impact our area. In particular, high wind speeds are predicted to impact us and some of the gusts may be potentially damaging.

The Villages has removed the traffic gates at all/most major intersections as a precaution.

So, stay alert and monitor sources of credible weather/emergency information (such as The Weather Channel, NWS, etc.).

“ETA” seems to be a the never-ending storm of this year’s Hurricane Season. It’s been around since before Halloween. Last week, it hit Central America (Honduras) as a devastating Category 4 hurricane. Then it ping-ponged off Central America and veered back toward Cuba and went through Florida Keys and flooded Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Then it went out to ”pasture” in the Gulf of Mexico for awhile where it gained some strength. Now, it’s set its sights on Florida.

73,
Tony/K4QR
