Like many of us who have contested over the years, I will sure miss John.
 His station was always a reference point to determine if conditions
would support a lot of Europe or not much during a contest.  I had the
pleaure of meeting him at a YCCC special meeting 20+ years ago.  As many
have pointed out, his book Low Band DXing is a classic that documents all
the engineering needed to build great antennas for "bottom feeders".

I think he may have had an interest in a printing company as well - I got
a QSL for EVERY contact with ON4UN, hi.
