👍 Pete!
Since moving down here, I actually use the quick disconnect pl-259s on all my rigs and quick disconnects on the router and cable boxes.

In MA, I used the antioxidant goo, Pete. You're right! It did get messy but they looked brand new, and were easily threaded and unthreaded when storms arose!

Glad you sorted everything out, my friend!
73,
'72' and I ain't using Goo! 😉

Thanks again all, for your helpful hints. Many suggested a range of products including Lubriplate, lithium, silicon, anti-oxidant compound, dielectric grease, pure copper anti-seize lubricant, and graphite lubricant. Who knew there were so many to choose from? A few suggested disconnect switches. But, since I’m basically lazy and cheap, the quick-disconnect PL-259 plugs fit the bill. Interestingly, they were cheaper (3 for $11.61) and faster via EBay (4 days) than Amazon ($13.52 and 9 to 15 days).
