This was the first edition of this FT8/FT4 contest. Interesting scoring
that awards points for the distance between grid squares, and uses grid
field multipliers (the EL of EL98).

We've been preparing for Dorian and also our expected travel to DC for
grandkid #4, trying to decide whether our flight will go off on schedule or
whether we should drive up. So I got all the outside stuff brought inside,
except for...my antenna, just in case the storm moves further offshore and
we can make our flight. We did postpone the immediate drive north and have
our fingers crossed for the next few days. So I had a little time for this
contest.

As much as people criticize FTn as not being real ham radio, this contest
did allow me to multitask. I watched Penn State clobber Idaho on the big
screen, watched the Phillies lose another one to the Mets on the left side
of my laptop, and made QSOs on the right side of the laptop screen, while
comfy in my recliner. Haven't yet figured out how to play golf at the same
time, but I'm working on it.

The biggest problem was in figuring out how to set up the N1MM+ and WSJT
environment with the new 2.1.0 version of WSJT. They've been working hard
to overcome the problems in interfacing the two, and have made great
strides. I no longer need two versions of N1MM that I need to swap during a
contest that allows all modes because the same COM port was needed by both
N1MM and WSJT. But I had limited time to work it all out, trying to follow
a comprehensive document
(https://www.rttycontesting.com/tutorials/n1mm/operating-ww-digi-with-n1mm/)
written by Don, AA5AU. I got through enough of it to allow me to operate,
but I had some issues that were probably addressed further, had I time to
read it. Guess I'll do that now since the contest is over, and better
understand it all for next time. (If anyone has trouble with the setup, I
can try and help, let me know.)
