Hi Members of TVARC Maillist,
My thanks to those of you who have responded with suggestions on how to
alleviate electrical noise and/or your own QTH's noise measurements.
For the record, the noise level on 20 meters, at my QTH (in the "Dunedin"
neighborhood) was measured this morning (3/26/2019 @ between 11:00
a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT):
Band Noise
==== =====
20M S5+
All measurements were with a Flagpole (vertical) antenna with an external
tuner in-line at its base. However, this external is toggled off when I'm
on 20 meters because the rig's internal turner does a better job on this band
than the MFJ external tuner. The measurements were taken from the
ICOM IC-7610's S-meter.
For about the past week, or two, the noise level at my QTH has been consistently
elevated. It used to run aroung about a S3+ during the day and drop
significantly
in the evening and even further in the early morning hours.
73,
Tony/K4QR
