Just as the Vatican is an autonomous entity, so is the SMOM.  I remember
when I first worked it years ago, I thought it was an autonomous entity
linked to the island of Malta.  I kept thinking it was the Soviet Order
of Malta, a Russian carve-out in the Med, hi.  Anyway, got them on 30
meter FT8.  CW has been spotty with weak signals here.  Operation is
pretty lame for a large group.  Italian stations are usually strong even
on wet-noodle TVARC antennas.
