HI Members of TVARC's Maillist,

Unfortunately, I was not able to join in any of the fun-filled activities
that TVARC engaged in for this year's ARRL Field Day event. I really
missed being a part of these activities and working with TVARC's Field Day
volunteers (setup, operating, take-down). Based on the kudos that I've
seen pouring into the ham club's maillist, these volunteers did a great job
pulling off another successful and fun-filled Field Day event! Of course,
I congratulate George Briggs (K2DM), TVARC's Field Day Event Coordinator
Extraordinaire, for his exemplary contributions in all phases of this club
event (planning, presenting, setup, operating, take-down, managing
volunteers, etc.).

Hopefully, next year (2019) I won't catch a bad cold (flaring-up a upper
respiratory problem) just before Field Day. That's what happened this year
(2018) and prevented me from participating in this year's event.

So, while I was unable to participate in the club's outing, I did manage to
work a bit of Field Day 2018 from my home QTH. Since I'm still recovering,
I kept it simple (Class = 1D; operating from the comfort of my home QTH
using commercial mains for power). So, I'm submitting my personal brag
(again more like a whimper) about how well (poorly) I did in this year's
Field Day event. In summary, I only worked 29 stations (9 on 40 meters SSB
& 20 on 20 meters SSB) in the span of nearly 4 hours of operating time!

There were entire sections of the country (USA) from which I never heard
one single station.  Strangely, I never heard a single ham in The Villages;
nor did I hear our club's stations; yet, I heard lots of other more distant
Florida stations! In fact, I worked stations in several Florida ARRL
sections (Northern Florida, Southern Florida & West Central Florida).
Wierd, huh?

The details of my brag appear below.

73,
Tony/K4QR
