I've had the same problem with my K3 when it comes to RX bandwidth.  The
data/SSB filter cuts off at 2.8 kHz.  I can widen the filter to 4 kHz
using the width control but I do not see any signals above the 2.8 kHz
limit so I don't know what good the width knob serves.  I do not see any
decodes for KH1/KH7Z in the 300-900 Hz range so no use calling them.  If
I can't get a decode when they call CQ (their maximum ERP since they call
in just one slot) there is little chance I will see them answering
stations.
