Just worked VK9MA on 3525.08 up 900.  Big pileup so I moved down and I think he had my call all correct.  Will try for more for insurance.  Classic 33 supposed to go up this morning.73, Wayne N4FP

Just worked VK9MA (Mellish Reef) on 30M CW, 10112.9 up 1 for those of you other early risers.  The pileup was almost non-existent, and it’s a good thing too – he kept calling me K2PH, and I kept insisting he get the call right.  Didn’t send him his 599 until he did get it right, though he cheated and thanked me anyway (…TU QRZ…).  But I called him again and fortunately he got it right this time.  With more callers I surely would have been drowned out.  Nothing more frustrating than when you get through but can’t complete the QSO.   I suspect it will get easier and easier to work him as the next few days unfold.  The group is scheduled to be there until Thursday, so I figure by Monday or Tuesday they’ll be begging for calls, and if we get any better propagation a lot of Villagers ought to get him in the log. 73, Pete, K2PS
