[K2PS Pete Stafford]

Just worked VK9MA (Mellish Reef) on 30M CW, 10112.9 up 1 for those of you
other early risers.  The pileup was almost non-existent, and it's a good
thing too - he kept calling me K2PH, and I kept insisting he get the call
right.  Didn't send him his 599 until he did get it right, though he cheated
and thanked me anyway (.TU QRZ.).  But I called him again and fortunately he
got it right this time.  With more callers I surely would have been drowned
out.  Nothing more frustrating than when you get through but can't complete
the QSO.  

 

I suspect it will get easier and easier to work him as the next few days
unfold.  The group is scheduled to be there until Thursday, so I figure by
Monday or Tuesday they'll be begging for calls, and if we get any better
propagation a lot of Villagers ought to get him in the log.
