The XYL had me out most of Friday evening, and with the lightening, I
figured I wasn't missing much. Today, (this morning and a little this
afternoon), I worked Pete K2PS, George K2DM, Dennis N0SMX, and Ralph N8RW. I
heard Frank KA1AF, but missed calling him.

Outside of TV, I got a station in Summerfield, and Tavares.

And for DX, I even worked Wayne N4FP.

CW 8Qs, 1 State, 0DX

SSB 1Q, 1 State, 0DX

I can't say that I'm surprised with the lousy conditions. Friday night I
worked 16 stations, all in FL. (Thanks, N8RW, KA1AF, K3ZGA, K2DM, N0SMX!)
Saw lightening and shut down - no biggie. Then around 10P I fired it up
again and quickly found W0RIC in AZ. And just as quickly, the XYL reported
more lightening. Fortunately I made it through a couple of repeats to
success and then turned it off for the night. Never got a chance to explore
the Western US opening.

This morning activity started around 7A, but signals weak with meteor
bursts. Finally got an opening to the northeast and worked into New England
and Mid-Atlantic states. The opening only peaked enough for maybe half an
hour for me to successfully call CQ. The rest of the time was a grind. Did
work a few South American stations through what appeared to be huge pileups,
hearing none of the other callers.

Ended up at:

CW 76 QSOs, 14 states, 3 DX

SSB 12/5/0

Let's keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow!

73, Pete, K2PS
