> Hi everyone, I just came across an LTR trunking system in the VHF range in my area in New York, and from what it appears it seems to belong to an SMR owner, and has many sites, all of which are VHF. The thing I've noticed about it all is that since I moved her last August there has been a channel that is transmitting all the time, and just a carrier, and I can hear the slight rumble of data in the background. Does anyone know of other LTR systems where a channel is constantly active? I know that in some LTR systems the data channel will carry the voice traffic when needed, and the slight data burst, but nothing like this.
LTR MultiNet has a control channel with subaudible data. I am not aware
of any MN systems on VHF in New York. You might be receiving a PassPort
system, but they don't typically have a constant data channel, just very
fast blips compared to LTR Regular.
