Morning.
New to the scanner fraternity, my name is Andy, from New Zealand. I've
been a ham radio operator for some years now, but only recently taken up
the scanner as a pass-time since becoming a Security Guard.
I have a Uniden UBCT-8 which is car mounted, which is sposed to
trunktrack, although I'm not sure how well. The instructions for the
scanner are a little vague, perhaps lending themselves to the assumption
that I might know what I'm doing. This is not the case.
The company I work for uses a EDACS "Fleetlink" (Read: Teamtalk) trunked
radio arrangement, which I'd like to try my hand at scanning
successfully. Seems to be the most expedient, handy guinea pig for me
to launch myself into the trunk scanning hobby. If I can track my OWN
trunked radio, It'll be the first of many milestones.
Sorry to the rest of the readers for mayhaps covering old ground, but
has anyone else run into the "grey" instructions, and can point me into
a more first-timer friendly version of instruction for Trunk Tracking,
and the Uniden UBCT-8. Perhaps someone in or near New Zealand has
already got this far, wouldnt mind showing a new guy how this is done.
Thanks in advance to all those who can help, my appologies to those who
I've managed to annoy with this.
Andy
