That's correct Jerry.  It could also be that they have the that  talkgroup 
simulcasting on that zone as well.  Here in CT our system is set  up so that 
lets say troop G is using zone 1 as main and 2 and 8 are simulcasting  them.  
Could also be a possiblity that a trooper is right or closer to that  line that 
the system might have switched him over to lets say zone 8 instead of  zone 1 
because of the closeness or that the cc is much clearer.  Sometimes  depending 
on tower location and your location that even if your in zone 8 you  might 
pick up 1 better.  My advice grab a map off some one at the local  yahoo group 
and just pgm all surrounding zones that way the radio can just grab  the 
clearest zone.  One more piece of advice.  Be sure to put in some  conventionals in 
between or put each zone in it's own bank.  If you have  them back ot back, 
it'll just pick up the first zone it sees and forget the  rest.  Take care and 
have a good weekend.  I also suggest an 800 mhz  ant because the radios with the 
1.4v cpus (press 3 at boot) have little worse  weakness than the 1.3 and 
earlier.  I think at least.  Also a very  humid day will affect things as well.
