That's correct Jerry. It could also be that they have the that talkgroup
simulcasting on that zone as well. Here in CT our system is set up so that
lets say troop G is using zone 1 as main and 2 and 8 are simulcasting them.
Could also be a possiblity that a trooper is right or closer to that line that
the system might have switched him over to lets say zone 8 instead of zone 1
because of the closeness or that the cc is much clearer. Sometimes depending
on tower location and your location that even if your in zone 8 you might
pick up 1 better. My advice grab a map off some one at the local yahoo group
and just pgm all surrounding zones that way the radio can just grab the
clearest zone. One more piece of advice. Be sure to put in some conventionals in
between or put each zone in it's own bank. If you have them back ot back,
it'll just pick up the first zone it sees and forget the rest. Take care and
have a good weekend. I also suggest an 800 mhz ant because the radios with the
1.4v cpus (press 3 at boot) have little worse weakness than the 1.3 and
earlier. I think at least. Also a very humid day will affect things as well.
Throw it all off.
