Hi Kirwin:

The formula for AFS conversion is quite long, so to save time I made an
AFS conversion chart for my scanner book that shows hex, decimal, and AFS
formats together.  I've extracted the chart and uploaded it to my website
at http://www.scannerdude.com/files.  The file name is "AFS Index.pdf". 
If you still want the formula let me know.
