Rich,
I appreciate your response, I did read on one of the sites if not
radioreference, another one that those 001, 002, and 015 were also the
LCN's, but what-ever. I do have the the BC8T programmed and am monitoring
what I want to listen too and yes I do know that talkgroups and frequencies
are totally 2 different things. I was only trying to figure out what you
were doing with the 20 freqs. And LCN's to see if I could come-up with
something better that what I have. It is quite confusing reading different
emails and none are actually explaining the full process that we are
speaking of, that being finding the LCN's.
Dave
A complete description would be nice on one email for everyone to read and
not to have to try to figure out a little from every email that has came
through the last few days....

Subject: RE: [TrunkCom] Control Frequency Only Mode
Hello everyone.
I have now entered my 1st frequency into the 1st bank of my BCT8. I get one
end of conversation on 5 of these channels. I have programmed talkgroups
into bank 1 also, is this correct? Or should I not have the talk groups
loaded? According to radioreference.com there's only 3 LCN's in my area of
Corpus Christi, TX. They are 1, 2, and 15. I am getting 5 the way I have it
programmed with the talk groups. Should I clear the talk groups? Thanks for
a reply.
No those are the Site no.s they mean nothing to the scanner and to you they
mean that you must enter each site in a different bank.
I know nothing of the BCT8 so how to program an EDACS system is up to you to
find in the manual.
After you know how to program the banks for EDACS trunking then you should
do the following.
Enter all of freqs for site 1 in the same bank there are 13 or them and they
MUST be entered in the same channel no as the LCN. The LCN no. is the small
print to the left of the freq on RadioReference.
Enter all 13 freqs for site 2 in a separate bank and in yet another bank the
10 freqs for site 15.
Press scan or trunk and you should be monitoring the system. Your statement
about talkgroups is confusing me. Talkgroups and freqs are totally
different animals. Where you program talkgroups and freqs is not the same
place. Forget about the talkgroups for now just put the radio in ID Search
after you have the freqs programmed. We will move on to talkgroups once you
get the radio actually tracking the system
